Stelter: Trump’s ‘junk-food’ news diet program is contributing to his downfall

Speak exhibits on Fox News have distorted his look at of the word and his presidency has experienced as a result. In my watch, the junk food stuff weighed him down and contributed to his defeat in November.

“The junk food items weighed him down and contributed to his defeat in November,” CNN’s Main Media Correspondent Brian Stelter said on “Dependable Resources” Sunday. “But some of these reveals retain telling him that he won! They are deceiving tens of millions of individuals, such as the outgoing president.”

Stelter identified as it a “suggestions loop of fiction,” having spot on channels like 1 The us News, Newsmax and Fox News.

Later on in the day, Trump after once more criticized Fox’s daytime newscasts as “not watchable” and explained to his Twitter followers that Newsmax and One The us Information (OAN) are “finding up the slack.” Trump routinely attacks Fox’s newscasts but praises the communicate displays that continue to dabble in election denialism.

Reveals on Newsmax on OAN keep going even further more with their wrong statements that Trump won the 2020 election. Rankings for both channels surged after the election.
The far-proper retailers keep on to enthusiast the flames of Trump’s misinformation. On “Trusted Resources,” Stelter traced the origins of a Trump lie about President-elect Joe Biden’s Thanksgiving speech. A wrong section on OAN claimed that Biden attracted “only one thousand views on the web.”
In fact, the speech was streamed by dozens of web sites and acquired thousands and thousands of viewers. But Trump recurring OAN’s bogus assert pretty much word for term on Twitter, then brought it up at Saturday’s rally in Valdosta, Georgia.

“This is like a seven-layer cake of lies,” Stelter explained. “Fakery on prime of falsehood on top rated of fiction.” He concluded that the outgoing president’s media food plan is “poisoned.”

As for the incoming president’s news eating plan, Biden relies on the “classics,” in accordance to Evan Osnos, author of “Joe Biden: The Daily life, The Run, and What Matters Now.”

Osnos, a staff members author at The New Yorker, has joined CNN as a contributor. He told Stelter that Biden reads outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Submit, Wall Road Journal, The Economist and The New Yorker, generally in print.

“He pays a good deal of consideration to the columnists,” Osnos additional.

Although Trump reads critics’ items about his absence of leadership and erratically responds on Twitter, Biden “isn’t going to parse each term that is created about him,” Osnos added.

Thomas Friedman, foreign affairs columnist at The New York Times, also observed Biden’s more healthy news eating plan on “Trusted Sources” Sunday.

“He will not chase every single rabbit,” Friedman explained. “There’s a maturity to him that I hope we are going to advantage from.”
