SOMETHING’S COOKING: Carmela’s on the Extension

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WFSB) – Carmela Schiano has a shut connection with prospects. Her family members has helped feed Middletown for far more than half a century.

Now, Carmela is seizing the day at her delicious breakfast and lunch joint, Carmela’s on the Extension.

“When I had the idea of what I required the emotion to be when you arrived below for breakfast it was just about like if you had been at faculty and you arrived dwelling and your grandmom created you breakfast or your mom made you breakfast,” said Schiano.

It is not surprising that Carmela retains it all in the family! Her father, Jerry, opened the restaurant that grew into Jerry’s Pizza and Bar in the sixties. Carmela now owns the two organizations.

“Now its like we can serve Middletown breakfast, lunch, meal, and then nighttime drinks,” said Schiano.

Carmela’s spouse, Karen Schiano, is the govt chef. Her menu is extensive, but if you’re ever stumped on what to purchase, just don’t forget the proprietors names. For breakfast, question for Carmela’s omelet.

“It’s all the things my wife loves, on her omelet or pizza or everything, these are her favorite components,” reported Karen.

All those substances contain Italian sausage, spinach, white onions, roasted purple peppers and mushrooms.

For lunch, get in touch with out Karen’s identify for her signature sandwich.

“This is the Karen club and it has turkey, bacon, truly crispy turkey bacon, avocado, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese,” stated Karen.

Carmela’s presents a good deal of heathy choices, but if you like listening to the devil on your shoulder, try out the strawberry banana nutella pancakes topped with powdered sugar and whipped product.
