A food stuff and toy travel hosted by two entities that have not long ago been at odds demonstrated the spirit of the time by coming alongside one another to gain their neighborhood. The Ventura County Harbor  Section (VCHD) and the Harbor and Seaside Group Alliance partnered before this month to gather toys, food stuff and money for regional families in need to have. 

The two entities have been going head to head at new Oxnard Town Council and Ventura County Board of Supervisor conferences about progress strategies for Fisherman’s Wharf. The alliance has been vital of the method and how the harbor section has been working with the developer. But all of that was established apart to appear together for a good lead to. 

“Everyone concerned in the preparing underestimated how properly we would do. The community and volunteers definitely stepped up to assist deliver what we hope will be pleasure and excellent reminiscences for households in need this holiday getaway season,” reported Mark Sandoval, VCHD director.  “This event was incredible.” 

The Getaway Foodstuff and Toy Generate collected 2,200 toys and 5,000 pounds of meals at Fisherman’s Wharf in the Channel Islands Harbor over the Dec. 12 weekend. Donations broke previous information and $14,000 in monetary donations offered 41,000 foods for individuals in have to have about the vacation period.
